They remind you of the good times
With a person who is now too far.
The times you spent,
And the places you went.
The rains you shared,
The food you prepared.
The silly fights,
Those outings in the nights,
Those bike rides,
When you had to take sides!
Frequenting a person’s house,
Introducing people to your future spouse.
Friends chuckling where they see your crush,
And that inevitable blush!
Serving time together in detention,
Not learning that cure isn’t as good as prevention.
Asking your friend to recharge when you need to talk,
Barely managing a climb to the top of a rock.
A helpful friend when you fall off the bike,
Flirting unconsciously with the person you like!
Riding a vehicle without a license,
Calling friends to your house for defense.
Making castles in the air and in sand,
A friend ready to lend a helping hand.
Living life like there was no tomorrow,
In a relationship filled with happiness and sorrow.
Those days were never a waste of the time and the tears,
I just wish I could relive those years!
