A Mother

Our mother was the one, who got us into this world,
Ever since then, we've been watched as we've unfurled.
She was always by our side ready to assist,
With our nonsense she always did persist.

She's loved us through the good times and bad,
Always saving us from the anger of our dad.
She doesn't care if we are dark or fair,
A wound to us, she can never bear.

It is said that is God's incarnation on Earth,
She's always been a source of support and mirth.
It hard to imagine life without her in it,
In her absence, life crumbles bit by bit.

Sometimes, we hate her thinking and decision,
Without thinking of her motherly position.
We should never lose our temper with her,
That may cost us somewhere in the future.

"I Love You" though not said, is understood,
And heck, she's always prepared some yum food.
She may not say, "Hey, what's up dude?"
But she always looks out for our good.

It pricks us to see her shed tears for any reason,
For any cause, to her we must never commit a treason.
We must never be the cause for her pain and suffering,
She knows, when we're loving and when we're buttering.

It's funny, how she can see right through our thinking,
She knows when we're hurt and when we're winking.
She waits up all night, waiting for us to arrive,
Her share of happiness, we must never ever deprive.

She always looks after the stuff in the house,
Let's at least help her to kill a mouse.
The eye of a mother can never be cheated,
She must know of every girl we've dated.

But someday she'll have to depart and leave,
By then, her care and affection we must perceive.
Till then, let’s not disappoint,
Her life, with love let us anoint.
